European Union Pavilion at FHA

Enjoy European Food & Beverages at FHA and discover why European food is ‘More than Food, Great Stories to Share.’
The European Union Pavilion will offer an immersive experience around the quality, safety, authenticity and sustainability of a wide variety of European food and beverage products, through information sessions, cooking shows and product tastings.

The EU presence at FHA is part of the EU’s ‘More than Food, Great Stories to Share’ campaign, which is creating more opportunities for food industry professionals in Singapore to discover, understand and taste the added value of European products, at a time when consumers in Singapore are become increasingly familiar with them thanks to the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA). Signed in 2019, the EUSFTA improves market access for EU businesses in Singapore and vice versa by simplifying trade procedure, including removing tariffs, improving customs cooperation and facilitating EU-Singapore trade in food products, while retaining the existing safety requirements.

EUROPEAN UNION PAVILION ACTIVITIES

Permanent tasting sessions will be offered at the pavilion each day, with EU products available for your sampling pleasure to include:

  • Meat and meat products
  • Dairy and eggs
  • Confectionery and chocolate
  • Olive oil, fruit and vegetables
  • Wines, beers and spirits

This year’s European Pavilion will also highlight organic products and ‘Geographical Indications’ (GI) - the EU's own quality certification system to protect products unique to specific regions and their traditional production methods, through product workshops and live cooking shows :

  • Cooking Shows by EU Chef François Mermilliod and by Singaporean Chef Wei Shan Tan
  • Products-oriented workshops on dairy, olive oil, cold cuts and beer featuring products specialists

The European Union Pavilion’s official opening ceremony is your chance to get to know the true diversity of EU agri-food products from 27 Member States. Join H.E. Iwona Piórko, European Union Ambassador to Singapore as we kick off the European Pavilion in style with the help of renowned chef Chef Wei Shan Tan as he skillfully prepare a More than Food recipe for you to discover.

Stories of Quality and Diversity behind the Sizzle

EU meat specialists will speak on the quality, diversity and market potential of EU fresh and frozen meats, with real-world examples, including how ‘Geographical Indications’ (GI) - the EU's own quality certification system to protect products unique to specific regions and their traditional production methods, represents added value for producers and consumers alike.

A live cooking demonstration of two recipes with European Chef François Mermilliod will bring the discussion to life complete with tastings of authentic European meat products as participants put their questions to the experts.

EU Cheese & Fruit Workshop
Discover the unlimited pairing potential of European dairy and fruit

Expert speakers will dive into the many different ways in which customers in Singapore can now enjoy quality European cheese and seasonal fruits, including how Geographical Indications (GI) products carry origin stories and attributes that can help you select the right one for different uses.

A live cooking show featuring two recipes with European Chef François Mermilliod will also enable participants to level-up their knowledge on EU cheese paired with fruits and apply this to Singapore’s own local hunger for sweet and savoury recipes.
